Window's Toolbar
September 28, 2004 at 11:57 am AST by Rodney MacLeod

Dennis was the one who mentioned this to me, and ever since I was wishing that I could do it. I would like it if the programs runing displayed on the Windows toolbar could be moved manually.

When I am at my computer I open my programs in the same order every time. If I want to access Outlook I know it is to the far left, then it is my web browser, FTP program and text editor. When a program crashes or I accidently shut one down I am lost. I keep going to the wrong spot to bring up programs. Right now I either live through the confusion or shut down everything and re-open them in the right order.

What features would you like to see added to Windows?

Retro Games
September 24, 2004 at 11:45 am AST by Rodney MacLeod

Here is a game for those of you that remember playing video games before the Super Nintentdo. I was stumped by a lot of them. I think some may have been from the arcade version of the game, but it is cool just the same. I got 11 corect.

Who is Ken Jennings?... I'll Take "Ratings Booster" for a Thousand Alex.
September 20, 2004 at 10:14 am AST by Rodney MacLeod

The producers of Jeopardy knew what they were doing when they eliminated the 5 win rule on Jeopardy. According to their website, "The series is the #1-rated quiz show in syndication, and has held that title for over 1,000 weeks.", but I bet they went down a little bit when all the big money games shows (Millionaire and I dozen others I will never remember the names of) were popping up. People like to see big winners and I think the producers were afraid that a new game show craze might happen and they might not stay on top for it.

Enter Ken Jennings. I would assume that by his tenth win that Jeopardy ratings started to grow. I know I started watching it a little more after he won 20. Now he has won more than $1.5 million, and there are no signs of him slowing down. Every show I have watched he has been sluaghtering his opponents. He goes into Final Jeopardy with $30,000 more than his closest competitor. Quite a few time he has gone up against only oneplayer because the other was bankrupt. On more than one occasion he was close to going in to Final Jeopardy alone.

Second City Star Spotting
September 9, 2004 at 5:05 pm AST by Rodney MacLeod

I have seen celebrities before. Maybe not big name celebrities, but I have been seen a few. At Peakes Quay in Charlottetown I have seen Lori Kane, the Trailer Park Boys, and NHL hockey players, none of these people really excited me too much. When I was in high school at met and talked to Sheila Copps at a high school assembly, admittedly I was not too excited about it at the time as I had no idea who she was. She kept talking about my name since she met 2 other Rodneys that day. She now thinks Rodney is a popular name in Summerside. I forget who he was, but when we were kids hanging out by a local ball diamond some ex-MLB coach came up and talked to a bunch of us. I don't think any of us knew who he was then either. Some one mentioned the NY rangers and he went on about Texas Rangers and everyone was confused. This summer I went Camping and met Gary Thomasson. This one I thought was kind of neat, just because he was an interesting guy to talk to. He told us how he does not think any professional athlete is worth millions, and that his friends say he is just jealous because he only made about $30,000. I did have to go home and look up his name on the internet to find out who he was.

This brings us to yesterday. I drove my uncle to the airport in Halifax. Will he was checking in I saw some one. I thought I recognized him and was trying to figure out where I knew them from. After he walked by Sarah looked at me and asked me if I knew who he was. Thats when I clued in that it was not someone that I actually knew personally. It was Eugene Levy. I actually got excited. I think he is hilarious. I will admit I have not seen alot of his work, but he was great in American Pie, and I do like what I see of him on reruns of SCTV. This is one celebrity I would actually have liked to meet, but I respected his privacy and left him alone. That and I did not know that sarah had her camera with her.
